This seatbelt guard is brilliant and deceptively simple. It's simply a small box with one end missing. The opposite side has slots in it. The side slot is for the seatbelt buckle to go through. The center one is for you to jab a car key into and release the buckle.
This gadget stops the little buggers IN THEIR TRACKS. There is NO way to subvert this guard, provided you frisk the kid for lollipop sticks. My child will buckle into this herself and must wait for me to unbuckle her.
I figure the police/fire will simply cut the seatbelt if need be, so I'm not worried about safety.
That said, this doodad is ridiculously expensive. $16 for a small rigid plastic box? You have got to be kidding. But it keeps my kid in the seatbelt, and can't be easier to use. I'd buy it again, but if it were half this price, I'd buy four of them -- one for each passenger. *ugh* ;)

We have tried everything to keep our 7yr old special needs daughter buckled in her seat. As soon as we got going, I would hear the buckle release and she would be up and around in the back. It was horrifying. Well, she can not get out of the Buckle Guard! Thank you so much for this product. It's just what we needed.

We bought this for our five year old Autistic son who kept unbuckling himself while the vehicle was moving. It works great and keeps him secure in his seat. We just keep a supply of popsicle sticks (which is also comes with) on hand to push it open. Works great, I recommend it. As usual with these guys, it's all about consistency, use it every time and they learn to not even try. Sometimes, in a bind, we don't even use it and he assumes he can't get out, so he doesn't even try.
