I spent a long time looking for the right carseat for my 2nd baby. It took multiple trips to BRU and buybuybaby before I finally settled on Graco's Snugride 30 in Lotus fabric.

Pros:
- Nicely padded
- Lighter than most carseats, including the Keyfit 30
- Extra large canopy
- Seat buckles securely and quickly
- Straps are easy to adjust
- Fabric is good quality, resists staining, and doesn't cause the baby to sweat
- Not as wide as other models...we tested the Chicco Keyfit 30 and the Safety1st Onboard 35 Air in our Vibe. The Snugride 30 was by far the best fit in the back. We didn't have to move our front seats all the way forward, and there's still enough room in the back to seat another passenger even with the Snugride 30 and my older daughter's Britax Marathon side by side.
- Not as pricey as the Keyfit but just as safe

Cons:
- The infant insert didn't last long. By the time the baby turned a month old, it was...Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars My baby got a huge rash too, April 3, 2012

Unfortunatly, the same story as above. Huge horrible ongoing rash. I took chest strap pads off and ointments and antibiotics cleared rash up. I made my baby wear hats and now that she takes them off the rash on the back of her head is back. I didn't pull her dress all the way down in the back and instantly she broke out. I don't know if it is the fabric texture or something they treat it with but it is pretty bad. I bought this car seat because the base is slim and I can get three car seats in the back of my Prius. (two sunshine radians and this)

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible fabric caused rash!, March 15, 2012

This review is from: Graco SnugRide 30 Infant Car Seat - Lotus (Baby Product)
We purchased the Graco Snugride 30 in Lotus for our newborn baby a few months ago. We purchased it online so we were unable to feel the fabric prior to purchase. The fabric is quite rough for an infant car seat. The horribly rough fabric has caused rashes on our baby's skin. We immediately replaced the strap protectors with a much softer strap protector made by a different company. Once the strap protectors were replaced our son's neck rash healed. However, he continued to break out in horrible rashes on the back of his head and neck because his skin was still making contact with the car seat fabric in these areas. This rash travelled down the back of the neck to his back. He has been on Benadryl and prescription creams for treatment and he is in such discomfort. The rash on his neck became infected and he was treated with antibiotics. Now that we know the problem he will not be riding in this car seat! This car seat is not worth the $ nor the health/wellbeing of our baby!
