Summary: Wonderful Seat at a Great Price 2007-07-09
Comment: Shortly after I began researching car seats, I decided on the Britax Marathon. However, coming up with the $200.00+ was going to be difficult for us. This seat was recommended to me by a friend because it is essentially the same seat as the Marathon, minus some of the extras and the rear-facing tether and the seat is made by Britax. I debated and debated and finally decided on this seat in Red and Black. I couldn't be happier with my decision. This seat was a breeze to install and my daughter is perfectly comfortable in it. I LOVE how easy it is to adjust the harness straps on this seat. No more fiddling with the back of the seat...you can adjust from the front. I was pleasantly surprised by the fabric as well. Although it's not as plush as the Britax fabric, it's still comfortable and appears durable. I would highly recommend this seat to anyone!

Summary: Liked it, BUT..... 2007-07-07
Comment: I bought this because it is made by Britax and it was half the price. It came out on top (as far as safety), so I felt good about that. The pros: It is easy to install. I had no problems, although I had to purchase a latch. Maybe it came with it and maybe we accidentally threw it away, in the box. Sometimes my husband does this. So, anyway, I had to buy a latch to go with it. The instructions weren't easy to follow, but I figured it out. I used the latch system & the seat belt. This seems to make it nice and tight. It was way too loose with just the seat belt. (A hint...when you put the seat in, put your knee into the seat and THEN put the latch in place. This makes it nice and snug.) Another pro...I like the color. Another pro: My baby will never be able to hit or pick at the lever by the crotch, in order to undue herself. I don't think she will be able to undue this, like the some of the other Britax seats. (THere have been many, many complaints about some of the newer Britax having this problem.) Now, the cons. After purchasing this seat, I wondered if the other Britax seats were a tiny bit softer to sit in. They might be just a tad cushier. This Fisher Price seat isn't hard, but it isn't super cushy either, in my opinion. I don't have a lot to compare to, though. I'm not certain if I would want to sit on this seat for a long period of time. As mentioned, it isn't really hard, but I just wish they'd made it a tad softer. Another con....There isn't a lot of cushion and protection on the sides to protect against side impact. Maybe it doesn't matter, if you have side airbags in your car? But, the newer Britax seats (Boulevard) included a cushier, tighter fitting, side impact cushions. It makes a snugger fit and a bit of a cushier ride. (The old Britax models are shaped like this Fisher Price seat, though.) Another con....the head pillow is worthless and just gets in the way. Just take it off! Another con.....My baby sits quite erect in this chair, so her head slups when she sleeps. Again, I don't have much to compare with, so maybe this is normal with all of the seats, but other people don't seem to have a problem with this, when they give a review on the other Britax seats. Maybe I pushed the back of the Fisher Price seat too far back, against the car seat? But, it seems safer this way, and I don't think I have the option of sliding it forward. My baby seems to be sitting quite erect. I wish there was a way to allow her to lean back, just a tad, so her head doesn't drop forward. I compared this Fisher Price with the Britax seats and I am not certain if the Britax is any better. But, many parents that reviewed the Britax said that the head didn't slump forward. I don't know. Another con: The padding on the shoulders doesn't have that attachment so that the chest latch will stay in place, by the chest, like the other Britax. Although, I noticed that this feature on the Britax makes it quite thick and larger. My baby is very thin, so she seems to be able to slide the chest thing down and then wriggle her arms out. I might have to lower the straps a bit more and maybe that will help. Not certain about this. Overall, I'd say that this seat is worth the money. It is made by Britax and it does come out on top (by the Highway Association), so I know it is safe. BUT, since my baby is super thin and seems to be able to wriggle her arms out AND since I would like it if her head doesn't slump AND I would like maybe a tad more cushiness, I think I may try the Britax Boulevard instead. It is really hard to bite the bullet and pay double for the Boulevard, just to test it! (Plus there have been complaints about the Britax Boulevard too.) So, if I do it, I will be back to let you know how it goes! Still, as mentioned, I am pretty happy with this seat. If you can't afford the Britax, I'd say that this is still a pretty good seat to purchase.

Summary: A Wonderful Car Seat 2007-05-03
Comment: I bought this car seat for my 2 1/2 year old a few months ago because I felt like she was outgrowing her Graco Comfortsport (which only harnesses up to 40lbs). I read all the reviews and decided it was the seat I needed. She was very excited when we received it and helped me adjust the straps and put it in the car. The adjustment was as easy as any other car seat I have dealt with. The seat is not too heavy and it installs like a dream. I have never had such an easy and tight install with my Comfortsport. In fact I loved the car seat so much I threw out the Graco and bought my 9 month old the same seat.

Summary: Fantastic seat! 2007-04-20
Comment: I purchased this carseat for my daughter as a secondary seat for my husband's vehicle. In my car, we have her in a Britax Decathlon (which I also LOVE!). We wanted to get another seat for my husband's truck. Since she rarely travels in that vehicle, I really couldn't justify spending the money for another Britax, but on the other hand, I'm really happy and comfortable with the Britax brand. My search led me to this seat. When I saw that it was made by Britax, just without some of the bells and whistles of their other seats, I decided that it was a definite win-win situation.
This is a really, really great seat. It's not as plush as the Decathlon, but she doesn't seem at all bothered by that. It's just as easy as the Decathlon to install (REALLY easy) and my daughter seems totally comfortable in this seat. It's a great Britax seat, with all of the safety features of a Britax, at half the cost. Definitely recommended!

Summary: Smart moms save their $! 2007-04-15
Comment: Ok this seat is the best! It's made by Britax who was the consumer report's best rated and it's 1/2 the price plus it's backed by your children's favorite toy maker Fisher Price! I love the sleek colors of the tan & black. It took me about 5-10 minutes to install, the straps are easy, and this seat tops all the seats I tried in stores! Best of all my son loves it and he's six months old and no "slumpage". It's not as cushy as other seats but it's got enough padding to put my fussy son to sleep right away! :o)
THANK YOU FISHER PRICE & BRITAX!!!
