Comment: These fit well over the rear window of our car, but the buttons to retract the shade have no effect at all. You'd have to open the window and remove the shade if you don't want it down.

Comment: They are super cute, but do not retract at all. If you want to adjust, you have to just take the whole thing down

Summary: Use a Towel 2010-05-05
Comment: I bought these at a store with a backwards R in it. I should have listened to the reviews on amazon first. Mine did not break, but it doesn't really keep the sun off the baby, either. The sun comes through it and around it, so we throw a towel over the whole car seat on sunny days.
While the sunshade doesn't protect the baby from the sun, it does interfere with my visibility while driving and parking. Putting a towel over the carseat (which already includes a sunshade, it only needs a little help in the gaps) completely protects the baby, without blocking my view of traffic while passing on the freeway. I'd give 5 stars to the idea of using a towel to shade the baby, and only 2 stars to this product.
This model does stick to the window, and does look cute. Compared to bringing a towel in the car, though, I just don't recommend this type of product for sun protection.
