Amazon.com Product Description

Evenflo has been a trusted name in baby products for decades. Their dedication to both baby's safety and convenience for parents is evident in this Triumph Premier car seat, which has features like convertibility, a five-point harness, easy one-time installation, and LATCH compatibility. Meeting or exceeding all U.S. Federal Safety Standards, parents will have peace of mind from day one, as this seat functions as a rear-facing infant car seat for babies weighing 5 to 35 pounds. Baby will appreciate that the car seat grows with them, keeping them comfortable in a forward-facing position from 20 to 50 pounds.

Triumph car seat harness
The Triumph's 5-point harness features adjustable height positions and visual verification the buckle is secure. Colors vary.
Triumph car seat base
The base features multiple position recline and SeatGuard to protect your car's upholstery. Colors vary.
Evenflo's car seat also provides a plethora of features to ensure that everything is secure before driving away. TensionRight knobs offer proper tightening of the five-point harness, while the ReclineRight base provides multiple recline positions for baby's comfort. The Infinite Slide Harness adjustment system allows for the harness to be repositioned as baby grows. Even better is that all of these adjustments can be made from the front or side of the car seat without having to remove it from the vehicle.

Safety is front of mind with the folks at Evenflo, and they made sure the Triumph Premier met the tough criteria of parents. The Quick Connector LATCH system is meant to work with a vehicle's seatbelts and provide simple, secure installation. (Should you need extra help on how to install your Triumph car seat, Evenflo provides videos on their website that give detailed step by step instructions.) An EPS foam liner absorbs energy in case of impact, while the memory foam pad that covers the seat ensures baby's comfort no matter how long the ride.

The body and toddler pillows ensure your child is given the right amount of security and comfort at any stage. The fact that all of the car seat pads are removable means that you can keep the Triumph clean as well. When baby becomes a toddler and the car seat is switched to be forward-facing, the 2-buckle strap position comes in handy, as it's meant to grow with the seat's occupant. There is also a convenient cup holder that gives them easy access to their drink while traveling. When not in use, it folds out of the way so as to not "collect" things. While the Evenflo Triumph may not have as many frills as other convertible car seats, it is ranked high for safety and makes a great choice for parents needing a more economical option.

Summary: Chest clip broke, now useless... 2007-11-21
Comment: We've had this car seat maybe for about a year. My son is now two, will be 3 in 3 mos. I really did like this car seat, until the chest clip broke, and I discovered that it was irreplaceable. I'm going to be looking into getting a booster seat next. Probably the Graco CarGo Platinum. Hopefully I will have better luck with that.

Summary: it took two triumphs to figure out that I hate this seat 2007-11-03
Comment: I originally went with this seat because two of my friends buy them all for their children. My baby loved being in her Graco infant carrier and snoozed everytime we got in the car. But at 5 months and at 90% for heighth, she outgrew the carrier and we purchased this carseat.

After purchasing the Triumph, my baby no longer slept in the carseat, and if she did, her head slumped forward and she kept waking up because her face was smashed into the chest straps. The seat is really wide too, and with a Honda Accord and having it rear-facing, I could barely see her face in her baby mirror from the rear-view mirror. The straps are what drove me crazy. You're supposed to tighten them by twisting the sideknobs, but it always seemed that one side was tighter than the other, and pushing her shoulder down. The straps were all hidden inside the carseat, so there was no way for me to even them out or even figure out what the problem was. The twist knobs were annoying to loosen too--not easy at all. My husband ended up returning this seat and getting another one thinking that something was wrong with the straps being uneven, but lo and behold, the second one did the same thing. Now, as a 10 hour car trip in the near future, I decided to return this seat and move on to a Britax Roundabout. Now, she is incredibly comfortable that I think she's stunned--she's absolutely quiet and relaxed anywhere we go!

Summary: Great seat!!! 2007-09-17
Comment: This seat is great. I own one of these and a Britax. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out how to tighten and loosen the straps. Also, the actual seat can recline or be sat up. My daughter has been comfy in this seat and we have taken very long road trips. If you know how to use a car seat this one is great. Half the price of the Britax as well. $$$ does not buy you safety!

Summary: Very nice seat but with some drawbacks 2007-09-11
Comment: Overall, we are pretty happy with this seat. My 9 months old son seems to like it. it looks very strong and safe. Installation (using the LATCH system, rear facing) was very simple.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the restraint system is indeed annoying. It takes a minute or two of messing around with in every ride. It does seem very secure though and we definitely manage it (with some annoyance).
The other drawback we find is that when my son sleeps in this seat, his head sometimes falls forward in a very uncomfortable position. I think this may be solved by adding a few more towels under the base of the seat to increase the incline level. One towel isn't enough in our car (Mazda 3)

Overall, it is a nice safe seat with a few drawbacks

Summary: Very difficult to clean 2007-09-10
Comment: We bought this seat because it is comfortable and safe. But there is one HUGE drawback: it is *extremely* difficult to clean. Our daughter gets car-sick every now and then, and taking the cover off to clean it requires (a) removing the seat of the the car (b) unhooking half-dozen plasic hooks (c) unscrewing eight very tight screws (use a drill or a power screwdriver to save time!) (d) unhooking the seatbelts from the back of the seat. Then when you are done you have to put it all back together, re-install the car seat, and re-adjust the belts. My daughter is just starting to potty train, and I seriously dread those long car drives once she is out of diapers -- I am tempted to replace this carseat.
There are two other problems with the seat. First, head support is useless, doesn't stay attached with the flimsy velcro. Second, the belts are a bit of a pain to adjust, especially loosening the belt and re-adjusting the shoulder straps.
I would not recommend buying this product.
