Summary: A good car seat for those on a budget. 2008-03-19
Comment: In my country the law does not require car seats so I did not have a variety to choose from. We got this one a few weeks ago for our 11mth old son and so far so good. I had the time of my life trying to install this thing in my car - I gave up on the first night. I was ready to return it to the store but decided to give it another go. Pull, Tug, Twist, Turn - I swear I lost all the weight I gained during pregnancy trying to get this thing installed. Eventually I got it in a comfortable and safe rear facing position. My vehicle is not LATCH equiped so I did not have to go through the stress of attaching another belt.
Once you understand how to adjust the straps (practice with a stuff toy in my case my daughter's cabbage patch 8)) it is easy to secure your baby. I removed the head rest and put the pillow from our Kiddopotamus snuzzler - I know you are not supposed to use products that are not apart of the seat but the included pillow would have given my son a stiff neck.
The padding on this seat is comfy - my son took his first long nap in it a few days after we got it and his head was not all over and we have some bumpy roads to deal with here.
My wedding ring has a few raised areas and it has caught a few times on the brown cloth, so all over the seat there are little pulls in the material - it is quite annoying. I have to turn my ring around before I put my son the seat.
I would recommend this car seat if you are on a budget - the Britax are way too expensive here - over two thousand trinidadian dollars, this was just over seven hundred ( about $120US dollars) at a local bulk food store .

Summary: Seat is NOT safe 2008-03-12
Comment: Bought it, returned it, it's NOT safe. Ours had two pieces of plastic that were never adheared properly and it was obvious the rest of the plastic that was adheared was not done so very well. It would have NEVER sustained an accident. Instead, we were more then happy to fork out the extra money for the Britax Decathlon. I suggest you do the same. There is no price tag on the life of our children.

Summary: A MUST BUY 2008-02-17
Comment: This is a great seat! I started with this seat when my son was 9 months old. He is now three and still uses this seat. The car seat is very easy to install and has great saftey reviews. For the money, the evenflo titan is an outstanding seat. The buckle is quick to fasten and easy to release. Luckily, the incline of my SUV seat (which should be considered when buying any car seat) is a perfect fit for this car seat. The recline is just enough to allow my son to comfortably sleep on longer trips. Definately in my opinion a five star must buy.

Summary: Piece of @#$%! This carseat has become my nemesis 2007-12-19
Comment: See the review for "don't waste your money" - it is spot-on. I have hated this car seat since the day we bought it, mainly due to the fact that to get my daughter snugly tightened into it, I have to yank at the back and tug at the front alternately over and over again. (Exactly what that review describes and YES, the straps get tangled CONSTANTLY). But this morning, when we tried to turn the car seat around so it was forward-facing, I realized we could no longer reach the back to do the pain-in-the-butt yanking that we have had to do to tighten the straps. So forward-facing, there is no way to tighten her into the seat. I almost threw the thing into the street to kick it into traffic. Had I realized that, I would have saved myself a year of aggravation and just gotten a different seat in the beginning.
Yes, it is top-rated by the consumer magazine, and that's why we bought it. My next rant is going to the consumer magazine for giving a good rating to this @#$%^&* piece of junk. I cannot communicate how much I hate this car seat. For the love of God, buy something else and save yourself the headaches!

Comment: While this is a good, save carseat, it's not very conducive to my daughter sleeping in the car. It sits very upright so that her little head flops around and is often bent far forward, resting on her chest. Not good for nappping...
