Love this carseat!,

We decided to purchase these carseats for our twin daughters because we liked how padded and comfortable they look. We travel cross country several times a year to visit family and wanted a really comfortable carseat that would help with the long car ride. My girls were premature and are also very lean for their ages but we have had no issues whatsoever with the straps. They tighten quite easily on both the chest and leg area and I have never noticed any kind of abrasion or markings on their legs from the car seat straps. My one complaint is that they are big and bulky, but again we were going for comfort so it was fine. Overall I'm quite pleased.

I wanted this seat because I was looking for something that my daughter could stay rear-facing in until she's atleast 3 or 4 and then continue to be harnessed forward facing. My husband called this the Cadillac of carseats. It's big and soft and has great side protection. A big improvement over our Alpha Omega Elite which only rear faces to 35 lbs and forward faces to 40lbs. I wanted to say that I had absolutely no problems installing this seat with no side to side movement. The key is to remove the front of the pad while installing. You want to tighten the belt through the belt path instead of trying to pull it away from the seat to tighten. Push down on the front of the seat and move side to side while you are tightening the strap. It is also perfectly safe to use a rolled up towel underneath the front of the base to make sure that you are getting the right amount of angle for rear-facing, as long as the seat is tight enough and has little to no movement. For anyone who thinks that...Read more

If I could go back in time . . .,

If I could go back in time I would definitely NOT purchase this car seat. It's extremely difficult to install rear-facing. We had to pull out the tightening strap that was supposed to go through the seat so we could push down and pull up at the same time. Even then, it does seem to move side to side more than it should. The other thing other than installation (though that should be enough to deter you) is that it's very difficult to tighten properly to make it so that I can't get two finger widths between my daughter and the harness. She's very lean for her age so maybe it wouldn't be a problem with a bigger baby but it's such a struggle. What's just is bad is that it tightens at her legs versus at the shoulder and it cuts into her legs. There's no cushion at the leg and you have to make sure that your baby is wearing pants and even then can still get a red line in her legs.
I would definitely not recommend this to a friend. Way too may things wrong for any...Read more
