5.0 out of 5 stars Great Car Seat, April 30, 2012

This has been a fantastic car seat for us. I love the tightening knobs on the side as my kids couldn't kick me when I tightened their seat when they were smaller. They also can't mess with it as they can in car seats where the strap is between their legs. My children are both long and lean, and this seat adjusts nicely for children on the taller side. We have used this car seat in our Jeep Cherokee, in a Cadillac, and in numerous rental cars. Each time, the latch fit is so tight that when you try to rock the seat you end up rocking the car. This particular seat fits both my children very well, and if your children are long and lean this could be a seat for you to consider.

I researched car seats extensively before buying this seat. I decided I did not want to spend $300 on a Britax. Out of the seats that got respectable safety and quality ratings and reviews, this one had the highest shoulder strap slots (I literally measured several seats myself). By the time my daughter turned four she was 43 inches tall but only 37 pounds. Major problem: her shoulders were too high for the five point harness, the shoulder straps of which were now just below her shoulders, but the car seat isn't supposed to be used as a booster seat with the car's seat belt until the child is 40 pounds. The car seat is useless until she grows, creating a gap in use.

LATCH Problem: There is a secondary strap sewn to the main LATCH strap that keeps the LATCH strap looped through the correct part of the back of the seat, but in a Ford Focus, a Chevy Suburban and a Mitsubishi Montero it is in the way of properly tightening the strap so I had to use the car's seat belt and a...Read more
