Summary: I love this car seat 2008-01-16
Comment: I was worried about buying this car seat after reading all the reveiws. I followed my gut feeling and bought it. I got this car seat about a week ago, and I LOVE IT. My son enjoys taking car rides now. Hes so comfortable. I like how the head rest moves up and down as the child gets older and taller. Its well made and really cute colors. It installs great in my grand am. Its also a great price for the car seat.

Comment: I bought this car seat as an upgrade for my two year old. I have the Eddie Bauer infant to toddler car seat and am looking for a toddler-booster seat for my boyfriends Suburban.
I have a Dodge Magnum, he has a Chev Suburban. This seat is so "straight" standing that it will not safely sit on the bottom seat or will the back touch the back seat. it moves inches left to right and is not safe. The instillation manual is terrible. The pictures aren't helpful to accurately depict where the seatbelt hole is. I ALMOST rigged this seat up by installing the seatbelt strap behind the coushioning near the head rest and across the booster (under the padding), but being that this is not the way to install the seat as indicated in the manual, I opted to return the seat.
It's a terrible design...kudos to Eddie Bauer on their infant-toddler reclinable seat but they get a big ZERO for this particular model. I woudln't be surprised if this seat is recalled.
Buy it for yourself and try to install it...you may have no recline to your car's seats and in such case the seat may actually install without incident.

Comment: If you want a seat that looks good, this is the seat for you. If you want a seat that you can install correctly, DON'T BUY THIS ONE! This seat is IMPOSSIBLE to install securely. I don't know if it's the armrests or where the latch is located, but it is a struggle to try to get this seat installed.

Summary: Not a good toddler seat 2007-08-24
Comment: I thought I would really like this seat when I purchased it. I was looking for something that would work well until my child was big enough to need a booster, then work as a comfy booster as well. Problem is, the seat is almost impossible to install properly in most vehicles. I happen to have captain's seats in my van, and was able to rig it using the adjustments on the seat itself so that the carseat is in properly, but that is the ONLY way! I am a certified carseat tech too, so its not just a matter of not knowing how. My other complaint is the scoop of the back - when the child falls asleep, her head falls forward. Not very comfortable. I am hoping this works better as a booster.

Comment: Eddie Bauer® Montecito Prospect Booster Car SeatI fell in love with this carseat in the store at first glance! It is a very attractive, neutral print and has so many wonderful features! My son just turned two and he loves to sit in his "big boy" seat! The head pillow is detachable and can be adjusted up or down which is nice, I had never seen one that could be removed and laundered and that I could move around to fit my son appropriately, it always seemed to me that having them sewn to the cover was silly! The side wings are really deep and I just feel so much safer knowing he has all that head protection in the case of an accident, aside from that the cushion and plushness of the seat is unmatched. He actually seems to be comfortable in it. It also has strap covers that stop his neck from getting irritated from the strap and they are removable and washable!Last but not least, what actually sold me about this carseat was the fact that it turn into not only a high back booster with a belt positioner, but the entire back comes off and it become a regular booster seat!!!! I have never seen one yet for this price that can offer so many stages! I can't say enough good things about the whole Eddie Bauer Montecito Line of products, I am thrilled someone is finally listening to Mom's requests for what might make our jobs easier!
