Summary: Don't Even Try This One 2008-10-01
Comment: I bought this car seat because me husband loves eddie bauer products but this car seat doesn't live up to the standards that we expect from eddie bauer. I put my son in the seat and he can't even sit back so I never could buckle him in I bought it last night and I'm returning it today hopefully there is something else I can get.

Summary: Uncomfortable, impossible to fit in snugly and hard to use and clean 2008-09-29
Comment: Against my best judgment, this is the second Eddie Bauer car seat we bought. I didn't like the first one because it was very hard to install in our minivan using the LATCH system and because it didn't have a head rest. My son falls asleep all the time and his head hung at a very uncomfortable angle.

Replacing that seat, I found this other Bauer seat with what seemed would be a good headrest. I debated getting it because of the difficulty in setting the first one up, but I thought that once I was beyond that it would work well.

Setting it up is a nightmare. The clips that attach to the LATCH are placed in very awkward positions, so much so that it becomes impossible for me to tighten the system enough to the car. I weigh close to 200 lbs and I work out regularly. I had to sit on the car seat and pull with all my strength and then some to get the belts acceptably tight, but the car seat still has way too much wiggle. In the process I hurt my hands, because the place where you have to grip the tightening belts is very awkwardly placed in the middle of a tight spot full of sharp edges. And there is no leverage for you to pull as you would like.

And the worst part is, I've had to do this a few times. Once the belts are this tight, taking them off is almost as difficult. The reason I had to take them off is that once my kid was seated, I couldn't easily tighten or release the seatbelts. I thought I made a mistake in assembling them, but I realized I didn't once I took the seat off every time. The path through which the harness goes around the back of the seat seems like an afterthought, causing the mechanism to get stuck in all places and making it next to impossible to place the child safely in.

Oh,and in case you are wondering, the head rest doesn't work at all and the seat is very hard to clean. Since other reviewers have already covered this, I will not repeat it here. Read the other reviews about how kids fall forward to get an idea.

The seat is going back and Eddie Bauer is never coming into my house again. Other then the price being attractive, there isn't a single thing to recommend it. Save yourself a lot of physical pain and a lot of cursing and buying something--anything--else.

Summary: Eddie Bauer Adjustable Booster in Bryant 2008-08-18
Comment: I've read all the other reviews about the seat not being comfortable because of the head position, but I decided to try the seat anyway since my son is big for his age. The reviews were right and the seat pushes my son's neck and head forward. HOWEVER, I put in a 2 1/2 to 3 inch thick piece of foam between the material and the plastic backing and my son sits very comfortably in the seat! I know I shouldn't have to do this, but I like the seat's functionality and style, so I took 5 minutes to trim the foam to fit the seat as a belt positioning booster (if you need to use the harness you have to make two slits in the foam for the belt to go through). If you were to use this seat as-is, I would not recommend it, but if you add the foam like I did, I would recommend it.

Summary: it does the job 2007-10-24
Comment: blocks child's view out window. doesn't recline (thought it did), head really flops forward, pinches inner thighs where harness snaps in.

Summary: PIECE OF JUNK! 2007-07-30
Comment: This seat is an absolute waste your money! I'm out over 100 bucks because i lost the receipt. (I bought it elsewhere) The firefighter at our local fire dept who tried to install it said he's never had a seat that just could not be safely installed in a Honda Accord (1999). It doesn't adjust and seat is at this 45 degree angle so in order to get the back flush w/ the back of the car's seat the front would have a space under it. He said he cannot safely put anything under there to fill that space. My dad had commented that my son's head would be at a weird angle but I thought he was just being overly critcal - obviously he was right!

I will not buy ANYTHING else w/ the Eddie Bauer name on it, i'll stick to Britax - always the highest rating for safe seats.
