Comment: Very happy with this product. Britax has the best Latch connectors out there. I didn't have a problem tightening it as previous reviews mentioned. Very comfortable car seat, my son loves it and feels like a "big boy".

Summary: Seems safe, but a pain to install and annoying to use... 2008-07-21
Comment: This is my third Britax and I love them. I bought this seat because I like that I can stil use the harness for my three year old, but that I will eventually be able to use it as a belt positioning booster. I feel like Britax carseats are very safe and isn't that the most important thing in a carseat? However, I'm a little disappointed with this one. It is really tough to install. One thing I've loved about my other Britax seats is that they are so easy and quick to install. I read about the difficult seatbelt installation necessary for older kids and I'm really scared of that. The install with the LATCH is hard enough. A tip - to get the LATCH tight enough you need to thread the LATCH belt through the slot toward the front of the seat. It's a pain though. I also reclined my seat (luckily I have a mini van with bucket seats that recline) and then put it back up once I got the belt tight enough. The other thing that is a pain with the seat is that the seat belt thingies on the harness always fall all the way down into the bottom corners of the seat. With other Britax I've had, the velco sewn on the harness straps stops this from happening and also keeps the straps to the side of the seat. For whatever reason, Britax didn't put velcro on the Frontier straps and I am constantly trying to dig out the seat belt thingies out from under my daughters butt after she's climbed in. Overall, the seat is OK. I like the safety features, my daughter seems very comfortable and the lower profile makes it easier for her to climb in by herself. I have to say, I'd probably buy it again simply because of the lack of better options, but this seat would be so much better if they could fix the installation problems and the seat belt issue.

Summary: Saved our daughter's life! 2008-07-16
Comment: We bought this car seat two weeks ago after reading all the reviews. We did have to teether the car seat (using the long way, not short), as our daughter is over 40 pounds, and therefore LATCH is not recommended. Well, my husband didn't think it was necessary to purchase such an expensive carseat, especially when you can buy a $20 booster seat instead. I insisted that we keep our daughter in a 5 point harness until she is 80 pounds. The frontier is one of the few carseats that can do that. Well, just last weekend we were in a terrible, violent car crash. Her britex frontier car seat did not budge from its location. She was safe and secure, and no harm came to her. The necks guards were great as they kept her head from being slammed around. Since the accident, we have had to get rid of all of our car seats (due to the accident guidelines). We bought three new carseats (ALL BRITAX FRONTIER) for all our kids. This car seat is absolutely worth every penny. It saved our daughter's life!

Comment: This carseat is definately the "cadillac" of carseats! My 3 1/2 year old just got this and he loves it! He has so much room to grow into it, there are so many settings for the 5 point harness that I know he'll be in this carseat for a long time! He loves having his own armrests and cupholders and I love the piece of mind that I get, knowing he is in a Britax. I would absolutely recommend this carseat to anyone looking...it is worth the cost when you consider how long your child will be able to use it!

Comment: We just purchased this car seat after hearing so many good things about Britax. My 3.3-year old son is very comfortable in it using the 5-point harness system. The installation is not hard at all, provided you have a latch. I am not sure about the seat belt installationi. It is much easier to get the seat very securely installed with the design of the latch attachment "buckles" on the seat. The design of the head rest makes it more comfortable for snoozes on long car trips. It is worth the money.Britax Frontier Booster Car Seat Canyon
